Israel Delays or Hinders Negotiations to Continue War

Israel's aim to maintain its military presence in the Gaza Strip complicates negotiations between mediators and the conflicting parties. This was reported by Agence France-Presse (AFP), citing sources in the Palestinian enclave.

Israel has presented a map for the withdrawal of its troops from the Gaza Strip, which the Palestinian side views merely as a reallocation and regrouping plan for the Israeli army. It has been noted that Israel continues to delay negotiations and obstruct reaching an agreement to prolong the war.

Furthermore, the map presented by Israel envisages the retention of its armed forces in over 40% of the Gaza Strip. The Palestinian Hamas movement rejects this plan. At the same time, during discussions held in Doha, some progress has been made regarding the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza and the exchange of Israeli hostages held in the enclave for Palestinian prisoners in Israel.
