Large Accumulations of 4th Class Hazardous Household Waste in Sevan

The Sevan national park has suffered damages amounting to approximately 33.5 million AMD. Following a report received on September 18 regarding the accumulation of waste within the territory of the Sevan National Park, an administrative proceeding was initiated by the Environmental and Mining Inspection Body.

It was revealed that a significant amount of 4th class hazardous household waste had been accumulated in the territory of the Sevan forest management area due to inadequate supervision. The disorganized organization of waste removal works using heavy machinery has led to the pollution of 0.81 hectares of land. An assessment of the damage caused to land resources was conducted, amounting to 33,484,320 AMD. A report on the apparent crime has been submitted to the Investigative Committee of Armenia.
