Iranian MP Reveals Details of Meeting with Russia and Azerbaijan
During a trilateral meeting held in Baku, transit, customs, and energy sectors were discussed. This was announced by Iran's Minister of Roads and Urban Development, Farzana Sadiqi. APA Agency reports.
Farzana Sadiqi stated that the most significant outcome of this meeting was the definition of the goal to increase the volume of transit shipments by Azerbaijan, Iran, and Russia: “A working group has been created to raise the volume of shipments through the North-South International Transport Corridor to 15 million tons. The connection of the Rasht-Astara railway to the North-South corridor is on the agenda,” she said.
According to her, freight carriers from the three countries face various challenges. “A special working group on automobile transportation issues has been established, consisting of representatives from the customs, border, and transport agencies of Azerbaijan, Iran, and Russia,” she added.
