China Significantly Increases Supply of Drone Parts to Russia
China has provided significant assistance to Russia in the war against Ukraine by increasing the supply of components necessary for the production of optical fiber drones, greatly enhancing Russia's aerial assault capabilities, according to The Washington Post.
Despite China's official neutrality, trade data indicates that the country has significantly expanded the export of crucial components for drones capable of operating at distances of 19 kilometers or more. These drones are becoming increasingly prevalent in Russia due to their greater resilience.
According to Chinese customs data, the supply of optical fiber cables to Russia grew nearly tenfold from July to August, reaching a record level. The export of lithium-ion batteries that power these drones also saw a sharp increase in June, totaling $54 million, amid Russia’s intensification of aerial attacks on Ukraine.
