It Is Known When the Highest Concentrations of Dust Were Observed in Yerevan
The Hydro-meteorology and Monitoring Center has presented data on the air quality in Yerevan for the period of October 8-12, 2025. According to data from five stationary monitoring stations, the permissible concentration limits for dust in the air of Yerevan were exceeded by 1.1 to 4.7 times during this period.
In the Central Administrative District, from October 8-12, the concentrations exceeded the limit by 1.1 to 2.4 times. In the Arabkir Administrative District, on October 8, 9, and 12, they exceeded by 1.1 to 2.9 times. In the Nor Nork Administrative District, the concentrations on October 8, 9, 10, and 11 exceeded the limits by 1.9 to 4.7 times. In the Shengavit Administrative District, on October 9, the levels were 3.4 times higher.
The highest concentrations of dust were observed on October 9. In all administrative districts of the city (Central, Nor Nork, Shengavit, Arabkir), the daily concentration of dust exceeded the permissible limits by 1.4 to 4.7 times. The highest concentrations were recorded in Nor Nork (0.70 mg/m³) and Shengavit (0.504 mg/m³), exceeding the permissible concentration (0.15 mg/m³) by 4.7 and 3.4 times, respectively. Furthermore, in Shengavit, the concentration of dust was nearly 11 times higher compared to the data from October 8 (0.045 mg/m³).
In the following days, a decrease in concentration was observed. The permissible limits for nitrogen dioxide during the period of October 8-12 were not exceeded. In the Central Administrative District (Khanjian 51), the concentration of nitrogen dioxide on October 9 was 1.7 times higher than the previous day's levels. A decrease in concentration was also noted in the following days.
During the period from October 8-12, 2025, the concentration of sulfur dioxide in Yerevan's air did not exceed permissible limits. At the same time, an increase in sulfur dioxide concentration was registered in the Shengavit Administrative District on October 9, reaching 0.043 mg/m³, which was nearly double the previous day’s figure (0.022 mg/m³). Concentrations decreased on the following days.
The ground-level ozone concentration in Yerevan's air from October 8-12, 2025, did not exceed the relevant permissible limits. According to data from passive samplers installed in the administrative district of Nubarashen near the landfill from October 5-12, sulfur dioxide concentrations exceeded the permissible limits by 1.7 to 3.2 times. Exceedances of sulfur dioxide were also recorded in the Kanaker-Zeytun (1.1 times), Nor Nork (1.4 times), Erebuni (1.2-2.1 times), Shengavit (1.1-1.6 times), Central (1.4 times), and Ajapnyak (1.4 times) administrative districts. No exceedances of nitrogen dioxide permissible limits were observed.
