Attempted Murder Case Prevented: Two Individuals Arrested
The Kotayk Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee has obtained tangible evidence during the pre-investigation of a criminal case that after a dispute between parties, which ended in a stabbing, H.G. urged his friend to kill A.O. for revenge.
In particular, T.M., arriving in Armenia and in preliminary agreement with H.G., illegally acquired and stored firearms, a gun, military ammunition including cartridges, and a grenade at his residence.
In order to carry out their criminal intentions, T.M., encouraged by H.G., undertook preparatory actions aimed at the murder of A.O., namely, illegally keeping firearms, cartridges, and grenades in his possession, renting a house near A.O.'s residence, following his movements, and taking photographs of him. However, A.O. discovered T.M. and assaulted him with friends.
Then, to complete their criminal intentions, T.K. continued to illegally keep the aforementioned items together with H.G., searching for a suitable opportunity to kill A.O. However, they were unable to realize their intentions due to unforeseen circumstances since the intention to carry out a revenge act was thwarted by extensive operational-investigative and evidential actions carried out by the staff of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. They were discovered and arrested.
During the searches, the mentioned weapons and ammunition were found. Criminal proceedings have been initiated against T.M. under Article 155, Part 2, Subpoint 11 of the Criminal Code (preparation for murder) and Article 335, Part 2 (illegal circulation of weapons, their main components, military ammunition, and other materials). H.G. is charged under Article 155, Part 2, Subpoint 11 (inciting preparation for murder) and Article 335, Part 2. Both have been remanded in custody as a measure of restraint. The pre-investigation of the criminal case continues.
