We Are Achieving One of the Important Goals for Which We Started the War, Says Israel's Chief of Staff
The Chief of Staff of the Israel Defense Forces, Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir, stated in a video message that the military pressure exerted on Hamas over the past two years, combined with "additional diplomatic steps," has led to a "victory" over the organization, according to the Times of Israel.
“By returning the hostages, we are achieving one of the important goals for which we started the war. This is a national, moral, and Jewish obligation,” said the Chief of Staff.
He emphasized that the military has acted in a "clear and professional, coordinated and responsible" manner. According to him, complex decisions have been made to ensure the safety of the hostages while minimizing the losses of soldiers.
Zamir added that Israel remains at the "epicenter of a multi-front war," and the actions of the Israel Defense Forces are "changing the situation in the Middle East."
