Ministry of Emergency Situations on the Fire at the Nubarashen Landfill

On October 12, units of the Ministry of Emergency Situations continued firefighting operations in an area of about 4 hectares near the Nubarashen household waste landfill in Yerevan, following the instructions of Minister Arpine Sargsyan.

During the firefighting operations, the rescuers effectively collaborated with the employees of the Yerevan Municipality. The efforts at the site were coordinated by Kamo Tsutsulyan, the director of the Rescue Service and Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations.

Approximately 1400 tons of water were used, and around 900 soil application runs were carried out to prevent the spread of the fire. There is no open flame; the volume of smoke has significantly decreased. The fire that broke out at the landfill was contained at 20:06.

Firefighting operations continue with the same intensity.
