Armenia National Football Team is Not a Team of 'Chocolate Santas' Says Hungary's Head Coach
In the third round of Group F of the European qualifying phase for the 2026 World Cup, the Armenian national team lost to Hungary with a score of 0:2 in an away match.
After the match, Hungary's head coach Marco Rossi answered journalists' questions.
"Our team fully deserved the victory, as we controlled the flow of the game and barely took any risks – we dictated the pace. Despite some mistakes we made and missed scoring opportunities, we managed to claim three points.
The Armenian national team is a serious opponent, not just a team that makes 'chocolate santas', as we say. They are technically skilled, defend well in depth, counterattack quickly, and are effective from set pieces.
If luck had smiled on us more, we wouldn't have suffered as much. Our tactical aim was to play against a team with a 'concrete' defense by changing the parts of the game, and it paid off. By the way, even France only managed to score against Azerbaijan after the 46th minute,” said Marco Rossi.
