Tigran Avinyan Provides Details on Nubarashen Landfill Fire

The fire at the Nubarashen landfill has mostly been extinguished by dawn, stated Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan. According to him, there is a significant volume of smoke cover present.

“Currently, around 20 units of special equipment are working—rescue service, community organization of the Eurasian Economic Union, and contractor company cranes and trucks are being used to cover the smoldering area with soil to eliminate the smoke. Over the past two days, 248 trucks have transported soil to the landfill.

To ensure surveillance and compliance with safety regulations at the Nubarashen landfill, preparatory work has begun for the installation of an external lighting system, cameras, and barriers. Strict regulations have been set at the entrance,” he noted.
