Video: 270 Volt Surge Affects Residents of Jrvaj Community
Residents of the Jrvaj community in Kotayk Province have reported to Auroranews that the electricity supply voltage has been exceeding 270 volts for several months. The video clearly shows that the three-phase current supply voltage reaches 274 volts on the meter.
In short, what is happening can be described as an attack on the residents' electrical appliances and potentially their safety as well. It is clear what consequences the monthly use of electricity at 270 volts can have.
Perhaps the most surprising aspect is that the residents’ complaints go unanswered. Auroranews has been trying to contact the Abovyan branch of the Electric Networks of Armenia, but our efforts have been in vain.
Against the backdrop of frequent power outages, this phenomenon has become a new threat to consumers. Many would agree that safety issues should be the priority in the process of nationalizing the Electric Networks, as significant harm could be inflicted upon our fellow citizens.
Auroranews appeals to Romanos Petrosyan, the manager of the Electric Networks, on behalf of numerous concerned residents, demanding that this issue be taken under control, as there are reasonable suspicions that the electricity exceeding regulated norms may cause damage to the residents of other communities as well.
It is evident that complaints directed at the branches do not seem to be effective;
