Increase in Hospitalizations Due to Respiratory Infections and Pneumonia

An increase in hospitalizations due to acute respiratory infections (ARI) and pneumonia has been observed in the Republic of Armenia, as well as a rise in emergency calls. This information was reported by the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention.

According to laboratory research results, the circulation of the H1pdm09 subtype of influenza A continues.

"During the New Year holiday period, favorable conditions are created, especially in crowded places, for the spread of ARIs and influenza, as the infection is transmitted through airborne droplets," the statement said.
