Iran Will Never Acquire Nuclear Weapons, EU Trio Countries Assert

The EU trio countries—United Kingdom, France, and Germany—have announced their readiness to resume negotiations over Iran's nuclear program with Tehran and Washington.

"Iran's nuclear program poses a serious threat to global peace and security. We are determined to resume negotiations with Iran and the United States to reach a comprehensive, long-lasting, and verifiable agreement that ensures Iran will never acquire nuclear weapons. We call on all UN member states to adhere to the newly implemented restrictions," states the joint declaration from the EU3, released by the office of UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer.

Earlier, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany informed the UN Security Council about activating the mechanism for reinstating international sanctions against Iran that were revoked under the 2015 nuclear agreement. Following this, the global organization's Security Council rejected a draft resolution concerning the non-extension of sanctions against Iran, resulting in the reinstatement of Security Council restrictions on September 28.
