Putin Reminds Aliyev of His Apology Regarding the Tragedy with the AZAL Aircraft
In a conversation with the Azerbaijani leader, the President of Russia recalled his apology regarding the tragedy involving the AZAL aircraft in Russian airspace. During the meeting with Aliyev, the Russian leader expressed sincere condolences once again to the families of the victims of the AZAL plane crash.
It is worth recalling that the Azerbaijani airline 'AZAL' operated an 'Embraer 190' passenger aircraft, which crashed near Aktau, Kazakhstan, on December 25 while traveling from Baku to Grozny. The aircraft had 69 passengers and 5 crew members on board, with 29 survivors. According to the Russian embassy's data, 9 of those survivors are Russian citizens. Lists indicate that there were 16 Russian nationals on the aircraft.
