Kobakhidze Again Accuses the US and EU Countries
The Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, stated during a briefing at the government's headquarters that the failure to differentiate and condemn the attempted coup and violence can easily be interpreted as an indirect but clear expression of support for those actions.
According to him, in the past few days, no organization or state, including the United States, the European Union, or individual EU countries, has issued a statement condemning the attempt to overthrow the democratically elected government.
“It has been four days since the violent assault on the Presidential Palace of Georgia. The declared aim was to overthrow the government elected by the Georgian people. However, during this time, no organization or state that claims to be obliged to evaluate the internal political developments in Georgia has criticized or distanced itself from the attempt to overthrow the government and the violent takeover of the palace. Moreover, the EU, OSCE, and other organizations have made contradictory statements. Naturally, universal condemnation of the attempted overthrow and violence can be perceived as indirect but clear support,” noted the Prime Minister.
