Firearm, Cold Weapon, and Drugs Discovered; 10 Arrested

The Criminal Police's Division for Combating Serious Crimes received operational information about a 32-year-old man and his associates traveling in several vehicles within Yerevan while unlawfully possessing and carrying firearms, cold weapons, and drugs. This was reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The information was acted upon on October 3, in collaboration with officers from the Criminal Police's Yerevan Department. At 18:00, the 32-year-old man and his associates were found at the intersection of Garegin Nzhdeh and Mayis 9 streets with their four vehicles. Some tried to flee, but this was prevented. A total of 10 individuals were arrested and transported to the main office of the Criminal Police along with a Mercedes, a BMW, and two Porsches.

During a search of one of the arrested individuals, a 36-year-old man, a loaded combat pistol with seven bullets was discovered. Another 36-year-old man had a knife with a concealed blade, while a 41-year-old man was found in possession of a similar knife and two packages of cocaine. The vehicles were moved to a secured area and sealed.

A criminal case has been initiated in the Shengavit administrative district's investigative department. A preventive measure of imprisonment has been selected for the 41-year-old man, who has been transferred to a correctional facility. The circumstances are being clarified through an investigation.
