Giloyan on the Developments Around the Physical Culture Institute
Students of the State Institute of Physical Culture and Sports are holding a strike today. They are protesting against the behavior of rector Davit Khitaryan, pointing out that there are several injustices within the institution.
To gain more detailed information on the matter, Auroranews contacted Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports Karen Giloyan.
Giloyan stated that he has met with several members of the student council. He shared, “I have spoken with them; they have grievances and issues, and the student council has its viewpoint. Everything will proceed within the frameworks of the law and the legal field. We will convene an extraordinary meeting of the board of trustees and during the meeting, all issues will be discussed.”
Earlier, in an interview with 24News, students reported that a number of students are being unjustly deprived of the opportunity to study in the free system without any justification, while spots are being given to their acquaintances who do not have the necessary scores to study for free. According to the students, leaders of departments and professors who stood by the students are being dismissed, and a lawsuit has been filed against the president of the student body because he raised the matter at a conference.
