Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov has stated that Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed important issues during a phone call, coinciding with the Russian leader's birthday.

“President Aliyev indeed congratulated President Putin on his birthday. Other issues were also discussed. This is very important,” said the Russian president's press secretary.

Earlier, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev congratulated his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin on his birthday during the phone conversation. In response, Putin expressed gratitude for the congratulations. During the conversation, the two leaders discussed urgent issues regarding the further development of bilateral relations.
