Samvel Babayan to Support Arthur Vanetsyan's Party

Samvel Babayan will support the "Homeland" party led by Arthur Vanetsyan.

The party has already nominated a candidate for the upcoming elections in the Vagharchapat community. The candidate is poet and public figure Khachik Manukyan, whose son was killed in the 44-day war.

"We respectfully regard Samvel Babayan's support for our candidate in the elections of the consolidated Vagharchapat community. We have not had any other discussions beyond this. We are thankful to all opposition forces that support us or wish to support us in the Vagharchapat elections," the statement reads.

The party reaffirmed its position that they are ready to engage in discussions with any force that genuinely fights against the current government. "Every individual, including Samvel Babayan, has the right to support any candidate, and we are happy that Samvel Babayan is backing Khachik Manukyan in Ejmiadzin. We have announced that we will participate in the elections separately. Until now, no changes have occurred in this regard, and we have consistently held consultations with other opposition forces and will continue to do so," it added.
