Demands for Early Presidential Elections in France
The former ally of French President Emmanuel Macron is calling for early presidential elections. Édouard Philippe, who led the French government from 2017 to 2020, has urged for early presidential elections to be held after the approval of the 2026 budget.
"We cannot allow what we have experienced over the past six months to drag on for another eighteen. That is too long and is damaging to France," he stated.
