Ukraine Continues to Receive Patriot and Other Systems: Zelensky
Ukraine continues to receive Patriot, NASAMS, IRIS-T, and Hawk systems, thanks to the support of the Netherlands, Germany, Canada, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, and the Baltic states, said President Volodymyr Zelensky.
“Our missile defense – the air defense systems, mainly Patriot and NASAMS – is primarily sourced from the United States. Everything depends on the strength of the PURL corridor, the program under which we procure air defense systems from the U.S. There are many responsible countries involved... The Netherlands, Germany, Canada, Sweden, Denmark, and Norway are the main countries that have funded this program,” Zelensky stated.
According to him, the procurement of air defense systems for the Ukrainian Armed Forces is financed by the contributions of the Baltic states, which are relatively small compared to those from the aforementioned countries. Zelensky emphasized that the completion of the international PURL corridor remains a key factor for new supplies; therefore, Kyiv has begun negotiations regarding the “second phase” of funding.
