Person Who Colored Shaki Waterfall Identified: BETM
The individual responsible for coloring the Shaki Waterfall has been identified. This information was reported by the Environmental and Mining Inspection Body (BETM). Previously, it was announced that an administrative investigation would be initiated by the Environmental Protection and Mining Inspection Body in connection with an event held at the Shaki Waterfall, which is a protected geological monument of nature.
“As a result of joint operational measures taken by the personnel of the BETM Syunik Regional Division and the police department of Sisian, it has been established that on October 5 of this year, a resident of Sisian, A.O., used a color additive considered a food supplement to color the waterfall during an event involving children. As part of the initiated administrative proceedings, water samples have been taken for laboratory research. If there is a change in water quality, the damage caused to water resources will be calculated. Citizen A.O. has been held administratively accountable for violating the regime of specially protected natural areas,” the statement said.
