NATO Exercises Underway in Lithuania with Participation from 8 Countries

NATO is conducting large-scale multinational exercises named "Geležinis Vilkas" ("Iron Wolf") in Lithuania, involving approximately 3,000 personnel from eight NATO countries. This was reported by the TASS news agency, citing the Lithuanian military command.

The exercises will continue until October 18. The participating units, comprised of around 3,000 servicemen, include troops from Lithuania, Belgium, Germany, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, the Czech Republic, and Croatia.

Approximately 650 pieces of equipment are involved in the exercises, including tanks, infantry fighting vehicles, self-propelled artillery systems, and armored personnel carriers. Military convoys will head to the Lithuanian Armed Forces Central Training Area located in Pabradė, which is situated 15 kilometers from the border with Belarus.

The main objective of the exercises is to assess and support the combat readiness of the Lithuanian Army's "Geležinis Vilkas" Mechanized Infantry Brigade, and to enhance cooperation with allies during defensive and offensive operations.
