Hamas to Meet with Mediators in Cairo Ahead of Negotiations with Israel

The chief negotiator of Hamas, Khalil al-Hayya, will meet with Egyptian and Qatari mediators in Cairo ahead of indirect negotiations with Israel in the Egyptian resort of Sharm el-Sheikh. This was announced by a senior Hamas official, according to Report, citing Middle Eastern media.

The aim of the negotiations is to "determine the date for a temporary ceasefire" and create conditions for the first phase of a peace plan.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced yesterday that the negotiations will include the release of all hostages, including the return of soldier Hadar Goldin's body, which has been held by Hamas for more than ten years.
