Students Jump from Second Floor, One Taken to Hospital: New Details
On September 29, an incident occurred at School No. 117 named after Konstantin Zaryan in the Kanaker-Zeytun administrative district of Yerevan. According to Shamshyan.com, during the period between 1:00 PM and 2:00 PM, amid the class process, one of the teachers (whose identity is not disclosed at this time) became angry at the students, saying, “leave, I’m not teaching,” and exited the classroom. This prompted the students, noticing the teacher’s attitude, to leave the classroom and attempt to exit the school through the central door; however, the guard did not allow them to leave, stating that the class had not yet ended.
After that, about 20 students jumped from the second-floor window, during which one of the children reported pain in the spine area. Auroranews contacted the principal of School No. 117, Tereza Avagyan, who said in an interview that the information published in the original source did not correspond to reality. “5-6 children ran away from class. The injured minor walked home by himself, and only later that evening was transferred to St. Astvatsamayr Medical Center. Currently, he is still under medical supervision but will be discharged in the coming days. There has been a meeting with the parents, and strict warnings were given to the children who left the class,” said Tereza Avagyan, principal of School No. 117.
