US Will Consider Attack on Qatar as Threat to Its Security

The policy of the United States is to ensure the security and territorial integrity of the state of Qatar from external attacks. This was noted in an executive order signed by US President Donald Trump.

"The United States will consider any armed attack against the territory, sovereignty, or critical infrastructure of the state of Qatar as a threat to the peace and security of the United States. In the event of such an attack, the United States will take all legal and appropriate measures, including diplomatic, economic, and, if necessary, military actions to protect the interests of the United States and Qatar and to restore peace and stability," the executive order states.
