U.S. Imposes Sanctions on Turkish Companies Linked to Iran
The U.S. Department of the Treasury has listed 21 companies and 17 individuals from Turkey, as well as several other countries, who are involved in the international supply chains of Iran's military-industrial complex. The restrictions apply to organizations and intermediaries from Iran, China, Hong Kong, Germany, Portugal, and Uruguay that are engaged in the supply of ballistic missiles, air defense systems, helicopters, and military aircraft technologies.
Washington has emphasized that these networks "threaten American servicemen, vessels, and civilians." All assets of the listed companies and individuals are frozen in the U.S., and transactions with them are prohibited. Violations of the sanctions can result in civil and criminal penalties, including secondary sanctions against foreign financial institutions.
