Taguhi Tovmasyan Sues Arthur Hunanyan from the Civil Contract Party

MP Taguhi Tovmasyan has filed a lawsuit against Civil Contract MP Arthur Hunanyan. According to information received by Factinfo from the ‘Datalex’ system, the lawsuit was submitted to the Civil Court of General Jurisdiction in Yerevan yesterday and has been assigned to Judge Anna Shilajyan.

In the lawsuit, Tovmasyan demands that the court obligates Hunanyan to publicly apologize via video for insulting remarks, as well as to refute statements considered defamatory. Hunanyan is required to publicly declare the following text: ‘I, Arthur Gharib Hunanyan, the secretary of the Civil Contract faction and an MP of the eighth convocation of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, apologize to Taguhi Manveli Tovmasyan for calling her “dishonorable” on September 8, 2025, and for the following proposal directed at her: “Let her take a sexually transmitted disease test every day, and we’ll understand where she got her four houses,” as well as “She’s a woman, let her behave like a woman, otherwise I will also question that test regarding her gender identity.’

Moreover, Tovmasyan demands a denial of Hunanyan’s statement regarding him purchasing four houses on Northern Avenue while being a simple journalist. Meanwhile, Tovmasyan is also seeking compensation totaling 9 million drams, which includes 3 million drams for non-material damages from the insult and 6 million drams for non-material damages from defamation.
