EU Budget Plan Serves Kiev's Interests, Says Hungarian Foreign Minister

The European Union's budget plan serves the interests of Kiev. This was stated by Hungary's Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó.

“Brussels has prepared a seven-year budget that is more about Ukraine than the EU. Instead of addressing real European issues such as competitiveness, energy security, and economic growth, they want to finance the Ukrainian army and state,” he said.

Szijjártó emphasized that Brussels is preparing for war and wants Europeans to pay for it. The minister noted that Hungary does not wish to direct its taxpayers' money toward financing the Ukrainian army.
