Discrepancies Between the Statement of the Prosecutor General and the Court's Decision
The defense attorney of Narek Ohanyan, who is accused of the murder of Parakar community head Valodya Grigoryan and police officer Karen Abrahamyan, Vahan Hovhannisyan, stated: "Two days ago, the President of the RA Investigative Committee announced that a public criminal prosecution is being conducted against Narek Ohanyan for aiding in the apparent crime. I repeat, for aiding, not for directly committing the crime.
It has been eight days since the tragic incident, and contrary to the President of the Investigative Committee's statement, Narek Ohanyan has not been charged with aiding the apparent crime, but with directly committing the crime. Moreover, the court has considered that there is sufficient reasonable suspicion that Narek Ohanyan directly committed the murders and has approved the detention request on that basis as well.
Thus, according to the President of the Investigative Committee's statement, Narek Ohanyan is merely an accomplice, yet at this moment he is in custody as the direct perpetrator of the crime. How is this possible? I do not know."
