Use of Additional Amplifiers in Vehicles to Be Banned, Offenders to Be Fined
It is proposed to ban the installation of additional amplifiers and speakers in vehicles in order to prohibit loud music played from them. This was stated by Sergei Bagratyan during a session of the National Assembly, presenting the package of draft laws on amendments to the law on "Ensuring Road Traffic Safety" and changes to the Administrative Offenses Code of the Republic of Armenia, co-authored by Alen Simonyan, Hasmik Hakobyan, and Arusyak Julhakyan, for a second reading and complete adoption.
The main rapporteur also presented the amount of fines for those committing the aforementioned violation. "The installation of devices emitting sound or light signals that do not comply with the standards, or additional amplifiers and speakers, or their use while in motion, leads to a fine equal to ten times the minimum wage, as well as the confiscation of the aforementioned devices along with the application of penal units – two units," said the parliament member.
