Pashinyan has long surrendered his trump cards, says Abrahamyan
While the Armenian authorities convince the people that peace is already a confirmed fact, they also complain abroad through various platforms that Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev continues to use the term "Zangezur Corridor" on different occasions. This was stated by Tigran Abrahamyan, the secretary of the National Assembly faction "I Have Honor," during a statement hour in parliament.
"Moreover, Pashinyan is distressed by the fact that, when discussing Armenian-Azerbaijani negotiations, Aliyev represents Armenia as a country that has succumbed to capitulation, and indirectly himself as a capitulant. It is true that Pashinyan eventually does not forget to emphasize that Azerbaijan's behavior will "not deviate him even a millimeter from the established signs of peace and the implementation of declared agreements," but as they say, the train has already left," said Abrahamyan.
"I am convinced that the authorities would not raise this issue, nor would they respond to the Azerbaijani authorities if serious problems had not arisen in the negotiation process. At the same time, Azerbaijan announces an approximately 4% increase in its military budget, while in the occupied Karvachar, Aliyev speaks about advancing Azerbaijani interests through force and modernizing the army. In response, the Armenian authorities are reducing the military budget, circulating a bill to shorten mandatory military service, while sending the army to the sidelines as the fifth wheel of the cart.
Why does Aliyev continue with hard, sarcastic, and insulting rhetoric? Because for him, the dominant factor is his vanity and the obsession to eliminate the opponent completely. And why has Pashinyan ended up in a position of a wall-backed complainer? Because he has long surrendered his trump cards and has moved himself into a corner, where the most he can do is build a dictatorship within the country and keep society under a blockade of deception," Abrahamyan concluded in his statement.
