The Zangezur Corridor May Pass Through the Iranian Border, Turkish Minister

The Minister of Transport and Infrastructure of Turkey, Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, spoke about the 'Zangezur Corridor' and Armenian-Azerbaijani relations in an interview with CNN TURK.

'The Middle Corridor is the fastest and most reliable transport corridor. We have lived through pandemics and wars, and we should not be limited to one alternative,' said the Turkish minister.

Regarding the 'Zangezur Corridor', the minister stated, 'Of course, here we prioritize the cessation of tensions between Azerbaijan and Armenia, peaceful negotiations, and, of course, achieving peace. It is valuable for us that these negotiations continue. Of course, the national security of the countries must be taken into account. This is discussed by Azerbaijan and Armenia. There is also an Iranian alternative, which is also being discussed. In any case, this corridor will be realized, but our Azerbaijani brothers are carefully studying whether it will pass through Armenia or Iran. We are also monitoring the process.'
