Alen Simonyan Responds to Samvel Shahramanyan
“They focus on the areas that are convenient for them. I have mentioned several times yesterday that many fought and sacrificed their lives. This is not about them, but everyone understands very well who it is about,” said the President of the National Assembly Alen Simonyan in a conversation with journalists, responding to the question: “Do you regret your statement from yesterday? Samvel Shahramanyan has demanded an apology; how will you respond?”
“First, before writing a letter, Shahramanyan should tell how he managed to leave Artsakh while his colleagues could not. If he has a question for me, there is a section for letters in the National Assembly; he can apply, and maybe I will respond. There is no need to interpret it differently,” Simonyan emphasized, adding that his words were not general and did not refer to all residents of Artsakh, but rather to those who wanted to empty Artsakh, “leave it and come to their homes on Northern Avenue.”
It should be noted that the President of the Republic of Artsakh, Samvel Shahramanyan, strongly condemns the assessments made by the President of the National Assembly of Armenia, Alen Simonyan, from the parliamentary podium and during a press briefing yesterday regarding the struggle of Artsakh residents, the defense of the homeland, and the actions of the Artsakh authorities, which have stirred the already turbulent souls of the forcibly displaced people of Artsakh. This was stated in a press release from the Artsakh Information Headquarters.
