Pashinyan Criticizes Use of 'Zangezur Corridor' Term
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan addressed a member of parliament during his speech at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, criticizing the use of the term 'Zangezur Corridor' in a question posed to him.
“No one has the right to label the sovereign territory of Armenia with a name that is not recognized by the Republic of Armenia. The rhetoric you mentioned does not exist at all and is absent from any Washington documents. This is already a gross violation of the mutual recognition of sovereignty that has been achieved,” Pashinyan stated.
“You used the term 'Zangezur Corridor.' Where did this expression come from for you? Where have you read this expression? Such an expression does not exist, has never existed, and will never exist in any agreed document between Armenia and Azerbaijan. No one has the right to impose a name on the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia that is not recognized by the Republic of Armenia,” he further emphasized.
