Mass Deportations in America: Nearly 100 Iranians Leave the Country
The U.S. administration has deported nearly 100 Iranians, as reported by The New York Times. According to reports, those deported include men, women, and couples who were denied asylum.
“Some of them agreed to voluntary deportation after being arrested. This is considered the largest mass deportation of Iranians in recent years,” the statement mentioned.
It is noteworthy that Washington has long avoided deportations to Iran due to the absence of diplomatic relations and documentation issues. However, this time, the deportation was made possible through behind-the-scenes negotiations between the U.S. and Iran.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry has stated that it is coordinating the return of individuals. Iranian officials have described the incident as a rare example of cooperation.
