Hayk Sargsyan on the Murder of Valodya Grigoryan and His Connection with Mher Akhtoyan
"I have no connection to the incident in Parakarg. This was stated by Hayk Sargsyan, a member of the Civil Contract faction, during a conversation with journalists in the National Assembly.
He noted that back in February 2025, when incidents occurred in the community of Mrdzavan, he raised a question in the National Assembly about what preventive measures the Ministry of Internal Affairs had taken.
"It was clear from the videos that automatic weapons and other firearms were used, and there were casualties and injuries. I asked why preventive work was not carried out given the operational information about the animosity between the two groups, which resulted in casualties and injuries," the MP stated.
Sargsyan emphasized that he has no connection with organized crime and regularly raises questions in the National Assembly regarding the fight against it.
In response to a journalist's question, he also referred to his photo with Mher Akhtoyan, stating, "The photo is from years ago. I don’t remember the last time I met him, probably two years ago. I know him from street fights, but I have no connection with him."
It is worth noting that a few days ago, the opposition mayor of Parakarg, Valodya Grigoryan, and his friend, criminal police officer Karen Abrahamyan, were killed.
There were speculations in the media regarding the incidents in Parakarg, suggesting that MP Hayk Sargsyan might also be connected. A photo of Sargsyan and Mher Akhtoyan was published.
