Biden Speaks About Trump

U.S. President Joe Biden has stated that former President Donald Trump poses a danger to democracy. This information was reported by Voice of America.

This statement came a day after Biden announced his intention to run for re-election. The president added that he may not be the only one who can defeat Donald Trump in 2024. “Maybe I’m not the only one, but I know him (Trump) well, and I know what a danger he represents for our democracy. We have been through this,” Biden said.

On Tuesday, in a video message (which included footage documenting the January 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol by Trump supporters), he announced his intention to run, pledging to defend American freedoms from “extremists” associated with Trump.

Biden indicated that he will run in 2024, even if Trump exits the presidential race. The president emphasized that he still has a lot to do to ensure the United States' economic and political security “for a long time.”

“I have carefully studied the situation before deciding to run, and I feel good about it, I am excited about the prospects, and I believe we are on the brink of significant improvements. I think we need to finish what we started,” Biden said.
