Arab Countries Resist Western Pressure

Arab countries have not succumbed to Western pressure and have not joined Western sanctions, said Yahya Zubair, a senior researcher at the Global Issues Center in the Middle East located in Doha, Qatar, to RIA Novosti.

“From an international legal perspective, sanctions are illegal. The West expected Arab countries to automatically comply with the sanctions, but this has not happened,” the expert stated, who is participating in the upcoming Valdai International Discussion Club meeting in Sochi.

According to him, despite Western pressure, relations between Russia and the Arab world have been actively developing in recent years. “Relations between Russia and Arab countries have continued to evolve during this time, especially considering that Arab countries are constantly seeking a counterbalance to Western influence,” the agency’s source noted.
