Patients Will Have the Opportunity for Free Surgery Depending on Diagnosis
Health Minister Anahit Avanesyan has stated: “Dear citizens, as I promised, we have expanded the program ‘Stent for Life’ for acute myocardial infarction. The improvement and expansion of life-saving programs are constantly in our focus.
As a result of the changes, more patients diagnosed with myocardial infarction will now have the chance to undergo free surgery under the state program. Previously, only patients with a specific type of myocardial infarction were beneficiaries of the program, but starting from August 1, patients with all types of myocardial infarction can receive stenting (surgery) under the state order, provided their clinical and medical indicators meet the program’s criteria.
It should be noted that the option for planned stenting currently exists only for certain social groups of beneficiaries. Our objective is to further expand these opportunities in the future.
I truly feel satisfied when we succeed in implementing or expanding any state program aimed at saving lives, and this is only possible thanks to the taxes paid by all of us.
Let me remind you, last year alone, 2,682 individuals who did not hold the status of beneficiaries under the ‘Stent for Life’ program were urgently examined and stented.
