Europe Warns Moscow About Decision to Shoot Down Russian Aircraft
European diplomats have warned Moscow about its decision to shoot down Russian aircraft. This was reported by the South China Morning Post.
According to officials familiar with the negotiations, diplomats from European countries have alerted the Kremlin that NATO is prepared to retaliate against further violations of its airspace. They noted that during a "tense meeting" in Moscow, representatives from the UK, France, and Germany expressed concern over the incursion of three MiG-31 fighter jets into Estonian airspace, concluding that it appeared to be deliberate.
Earlier, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte stated that the alliance could shoot down Russian aircraft that threaten civilian infrastructure or the population.
