UAVs Detected Over Denmark's Largest Military Base
Unidentified unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) have been spotted over Denmark's largest military base, as reported by France 24. A police officer confirmed, "I can confirm that one or two drones have been observed over the Karup airbase," adding that the devices were not shot down.
The police employee also declined to comment on the origin of the drones. The Danish Ministry of Defense has confirmed that UAVs were noticed near several military facilities last night, though they did not specify which ones.
Karup airbase, where all Danish military helicopters are stationed, employs around 3,500 personnel. The airbase shares runways with the civilian Midtjylland Airport. The airport was temporarily closed due to drone activity, but there were no flight delays as no flights were scheduled at that time.
Earlier this week, drones were also observed over the Aalborg, Esbjerg, Sonderborg, and Skrydstrup airbases. Furthermore, on Tuesday night, Copenhagen Airport completely halted operations due to several large drones in the vicinity.
