Photos: Moscow Loses Protected Parks and Forests Due to Air Defense Installations
In several districts of Moscow, active logging has begun after the New Year. As reported by The Insider, this is being done in preparation for the needs of the Ministry of Defense, specifically for air defense sites.
The S-400 anti-aircraft missile systems have already been deployed in Losiny Ostrov and the experimental fields of the Timiryazev Agricultural Academy. In the Pechatniki district, about 100 hectares of forest have been cleared within the protected zone of the Kolomenskoe museum-reserve.
Residents fear that the renowned Ascension Church may lose its UNESCO World Heritage status. Military experts warn that the placement of military facilities near high-rise buildings poses a threat to residents. The Insider visited construction sites and investigated how Moscow is preparing for defense.
