Video: Ukrainian Agent Arrested in Russia - FSB Provides Details
The Federal Security Service (FSB) of Russia's Nizhny Novgorod region has arrested an agent of Ukrainian intelligence who attempted to incite state treason among participants of the partial mobilization.
The information was reported by RIA Novosti, citing the FSB.
“The person in question took measures to incite state treason among those called up to the ranks of the Russian Armed Forces as part of the partial mobilization, including providing information on the locations of Russian military units to the enemy, stealing and transferring military equipment, and voluntarily surrendering,” the statement read.
According to the FSB, the arrested individual acted on behalf of the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense. A criminal case has been initiated under Article 275.1 of the Russian Criminal Code (collaboration with a foreign state on confidential grounds), and the detainee has been moved to isolation.
It is worth recalling that the partial mobilization in Russia began on September 21, 2022, and concluded at the end of October. Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu stated that the partial mobilization was necessary for controlling a 1,000 km frontline and liberated territories, with a total of 300,000 reservists recruited as planned.
