Ohanyan: If the Issue of Artsakh Didn't Exist, Let's See If He Would Get So Many Votes

The reasons for failures and defeat are threefold. First, since 2018, a serious blow has been dealt to the command system of the Armed Forces, and the continuous and frequent changes of the minister and chief of staff have significantly affected the management system, knowledge of combat operations, and success in large-scale operations. This was stated by Seyran Ohanyan, the leader of the 'Armenia' parliamentary faction, during a conversation with journalists today, on the fifth anniversary of the onset of the 44-day war, at the Yerablur Pantheon.

'Moreover, I am referring to the actions of the Supreme Commander. Today he says, ‘What were you doing in Artsakh?’ What were you doing in Artsakh, or your relatives, your son, your wife? If you were in Artsakh and your presence brought nothing, what was the point of going there, if you couldn't have an impact during combat operations as the leader of the Armenian government who took on the responsibility of guaranteeing Artsakh's security?

The second is that structural changes have affected the army's combat readiness. Certain structures have been disbanded, and the military procurement packages have been altered. And third is discipline.

He says, ‘I am legitimate, the people have given me their vote.’ The people voted for you for Artsakh, to be the guarantor of Artsakh's security, for the de-occupation of Shushi and Hadrut. If that issue did not exist, let’s see how many votes he would have gotten. I don't think it would be as many. That’s why today, the government’s rating is declining,' Ohanyan stated.
