Hungary's Foreign Minister: Ukraine Has Yet to Drag Us into Their War
The Foreign Minister of Hungary, Péter Szijjártó, has rejected remarks made by his Ukrainian counterpart Andrii Sybiha regarding Budapest's "moral degradation," citing it as a reflection of Ukraine's unsuccessful attempts to involve Hungary in the ongoing conflict.
Szijjártó believes that Sybiha's words mirror his frustration over this failure. "I understand the frustration of the Ukrainian Foreign Minister; they still have not been able to drag us into their war," the diplomat wrote on Facebook.
The Hungarian Foreign Minister emphasized that Hungary will not interfere in conflicts between neighboring countries but will continue to defend its national interests.
Earlier, the Chief Commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Oleksandr Syrskyi, reported to President Volodymyr Zelensky that Hungarian drones had violated Ukrainian airspace to gather intelligence on industrial capabilities in border regions. Following that, Zelensky ordered a review of "all available data and immediate reports on each recorded incident."
In response to Ukraine's assertion that Hungarian drones breached its airspace, Szijjártó claimed that Zelensky has "lost his mind due to anti-Hungarian sentiments."
