Anna Hakobyan's Relative Appoints Former Pizza Deliveryman as Head of Department

“Just yesterday, city hall employees were taken aback when someone who, to put it mildly, does not meet any criteria for holding that position was appointed as the acting head of the Advertising, Trade and Service Coordination Department.” This was reported by Hraparak.

According to the media, the position of department head has been temporarily assigned to one of Deputy Mayor Vahagn Mkrtchyan’s friends, who has previously worked as a deliveryman.

“Probably, no more suitable position could be found for a deliveryman, and Vahagn Mkrtchyan appointed him as the head of the Advertising, Trade and Service Coordination Department, as a job closer to delivery work. He must have considered that a deliveryman's experience is sufficient for this position. According to our source, Mayor Vardges Samsonyan was strongly opposed to this appointment, but, as they say, he was powerless in front of Anna Hakobyan’s relative.

We inquired with the ZU member Deputy Mayor Vahagn Mkrtchyan about who the new department head is. “Yesterday we selected Sevak Khachatryan as the acting head of the department. He is not my close friend, but I know him; the position has been vacant for about 3 months, and the previous head also resigned,” the deputy mayor confirmed during our conversation.

Was he a pizza deliveryman, and on what basis did you entrust him with such a position? “He once worked as a deliveryman, but for the past 3 years, he has been the head of the rear at the Military Police,” Mkrtchyan responded.

How did he leave the Military Police and prefer the position of the head of the trade department? “Well, we don’t ask such questions when hiring someone; it’s their choice,” the deputy mayor stated.

It should be noted that months ago there were discussions about dismissing mkrtchyan’s assistant Karen Vardanyan. Karen Vardanyan was replaced by Mkrtchyan’s brother-in-law, Gevorg Yaloyan. The latter was a driver for former Shirak governor Nazeli Baghdasaryan,” the newspaper wrote.
