The Term 'Zangezur Corridor' is Disrespectful Towards the US President, Says Simonyan

Our opposition figures or anyone in the world who refers not to TRIPP or Trump's pathway but uses the term corridor holds two problematic meanings within it. This was stated by the President of the National Assembly, Alen Simonyan, in a conversation with journalists in the National Assembly.

“Anyone in Armenia or the world who calls TRIPP the 'Zangezur Corridor' or a corridor, first of all, shows disrespect towards the US President. Secondly, that person is not speaking about peace in their linguistic thinking but is discussing an interim solution in a wartime situation,” he said.

According to him, a peace agreement will be signed by the end of the year. “You should notice that even the rhetoric of the President of Azerbaijan has changed; from threats, insults, and hate speech, to some extent, this discourse has been reformulated, and they are now talking about peace as well. If at one time you accused us of speaking alone, questioning why they are not speaking up, now you can see that they are also saying it,” noted Simonyan.

To the remark that the President of Azerbaijan is still calling us occupiers from the podium, he responded, “We also call them occupiers; we see them as occupiers as well,” emphasized the Speaker of the National Assembly.
