King Charles III at the Center of Controversy

The King of the United Kingdom, Charles III, has found himself at the center of a scandal during a five-day visit to Australia with his wife, Queen Camilla. The New York Post reports that Charles III delivered a speech at the Australian Parliament today. After he concluded his speech, Senator Lydia Thorpe from Victoria stepped out to criticize him, shouting, 'This is not your land.'

'Return our land to us. Give us back what you have stolen from us—our bones, our children, our people. You are not our king. You have destroyed our land,' the senator exclaimed.

Reports indicate that security personnel quickly removed Lydia Thorpe from the chamber, preventing her from approaching the king.

Earlier, the Daily Mail reported that King Charles III's official visit to Australia, during which he paused cancer treatment, was under threat, as all six state premiers invited to a reception in his honor declined to attend for various reasons. Many other prominent political figures in the Australian capital have also refused to meet with the king.
