Opposition in Parliament to Remove Pashinyan, Not for the Unworthy to Be Beaten: Farmanyan

The Armenian opposition must present alternative programs to the people and be able to resolve one issue: removing Nikol Pashinyan from the position of Prime Minister of Armenia. This was stated by Samvel Farmanyan, a former member of the National Assembly and former press secretary of Armenia's third president, during parliamentary hearings on the draft statement initiated by the 'Honorary Duty' faction regarding the 'National Crisis and Governance Failure.'

He first announced that he feels discomfort approaching a podium that symbolizes the gross arrogance, irresponsibility from the political majority, as well as unacceptable attitudes towards the opposition. 'Unfortunately, this hall and podium also symbolize the failure of our parliamentary opposition,' emphasized Farmanyan.

According to him, the time for presenting arguments about why Pashinyan should be removed has long passed. The former MP stated that Nikol Pashinyan answers every day to the question of why he is a walking disaster as Prime Minister.

Farmanyan is convinced that the people's demand from the opposition is not to gather among themselves, listen to each other, applaud, rejoice, and then go home, but to solve the issue of removing Pashinyan. 'The opposition is here for that, for no other reason. No citizen in Armenia elected the opposition sitting here for any other purpose than to remove Nikol Pashinyan. A task that our opposition has spectacularly failed. We must voice this truth. You have ended up in the National Assembly as a result of my and people like me's votes to solve one problem, not to be beaten by the unworthy here and then come back and sit in the same place.'

Farmanyan also stated that the opposition should propose alternative programs and not just say, 'people, if you go out...' What should they go out for if they do not listen to a substantive alternative to what Pashinyan is offering?' he declared.

He is convinced that Pashinyan will never bring security to the Armenian people, and his promised peace is a temporary gift from foreign powers to reproduce his rule, after which Pashinyan will successfully dismantle Armenia.

'Dear opposition members, we are disconnected from reality and our people, while the people have turned their gaze to the opposition to solve this problem. They do not expect the opposition to come to this hall, shamelessly take a beating, and continue. Excuse me, I have loudly spoken the 5 percent of the truth that our people are discussing,' concluded the former MP.
